Who Can Benefit
People participate for a variety of reasons. You may wish to enroll in the Mindfulness Stress Reduction Program if you can identify with any of the following statements.

• You feel the pace of life seems too rushed and out of control.
• You often feel like stress is controlling you and your life, rather than you controlling it.
• You seem to be living life on “automatic pilot,” overly concerned with “getting things done,” but not feeling much meaning or joy in life.
• You feel you are constantly trying to handle too much responsibility and too much pressure.
• You worry excessively about the past and future -- making it difficult to focus on the present.
• You lack energy to effectively handle current situations.
• You have a desire for continual personal growth and/or a better sense of balance in your life.
• You wish to gain greater understanding of the interconnection between the mind, emotions and body.
• You are not giving yourself time to focus on your own needs.

• You are dealing with issues related to loss: such as bereavement, divorce, or employment.
• You have concerns related to children, family, marital, or “significant other” relationships
• You are interested in learning preventative measures to avoid or reduce illness and/or stress for yourself or a loved one.
• You or someone close to you has a medical diagnosis that requires lifestyle changes in order to improve health conditions and/or compliment medical treatment. This may include, but is not limited to:
Arthritis, Anxiety, Cancer, Chronic Fatigue, Hypertension, Diabetes, Heart Disease, Headaches,
GI Distress, Sleep Disturbances, Depression, Fertility Issues, Menopause, Interstitial Cystitis,
Fibromyalgia, Weakened Immune System, and Chronic Pain.
• You wish to learn real life techniques to activate your own stress-relieving skills and manage or eliminate the negative effects of habitual stress.

• You see value in improving your mental, emotional and physical resiliency.
• You have wondered from time to time, if your frame of mind influences the quality of your life and work.
• You are interested in teaching your children/teens, effective, yet easy and practical coping skills to help them with life challenges and stress….additional skills that you can pass on to them…that they can utilize themselves for the rest of their lives.
• You are concerned with any other stress-related issues not mentioned above.
• Note: Many health care professionals have utilized the group as a resource, to develop new skills that promote and maintain their own health and well-being, as they continue working with the increasing demands in the health care arena.

Written evaluations are given to group participants at the end of the eight-week program. There are also random follow-up telephone calls to check-in with previous participants. Informal verbal follow-ups are also conducted with program graduates who attend the Saturday retreats. Here are some of the comments received:
